Presented at the Round Table by Benjamín Forcano

Preliminary

This Assembly faces a crisis that radically affects not only economy, ecology and politics but also ethics and religion, however,  we must be conscious that it is not by chance but something with a specific cause that we can and must overcome.

The main obstacle, perhaps, is the skepticism and fatalism of those who believe that there is no way out, either because they accept the current neoliberal economic determinism or because they believe that this economic world has nothing to do with ethics and religion.

We prefer to start from the ontological unity of persons and peoples, from the dignity and inalienable rights of the human family, present in the human conscious, now universally activated from above and from below by the joint forces of ethics and religions. "We need to keep in mind the peaceful coexistence of different peoples, based on hopes, goals, ideals, criteria that have been lost or dormant throughout the world as opposed to political programs and activities." (Hans Küng) .

It is therefore necessary to promote a new way of thinking (at different levels Spain, Europe and the whole world) where we can all come together to solve common problems and reach minimum levels in order to live together in justice, freedom and peace.

We are not dreamers, we work with the conviction that god is within us and that he drives us and enlightens us to go ahead and propose utopian solutions ("Utopia is tomorrow’s truth ", "Utopia is premature truth) that make us dream of the days when according to D. Quixote, "the words yours and mine disappear and where all things become common to all."

Our approach and principles of action are a counterpoint and bring hope. And so,
