Delegates gathered late this afternoon, greeting each other warmly as old friends.

After dinner each group reported on activity in the last year.  Development and extension was happening in each country.  In some, for example, France, there were a number of groups working together and present at the conference.

There had been celebrations of the opening of Vatican II, demonstrating the importance that Catholics give to the teachings of that Council.  Significant theologians had been invited to many of these occasions to improve knowledge of that great event.  Books and papers are being published to educate brothers and sisters in the Church.  Some groups were very active in addressing the issues connected with migration and social justice /human rights.

Where parishes were being closed or amalgamated help was being given to enable those who wished to stay together, develop and also maintain links with those who remained part of the official church system.
