The European network Church on the Move commits itself importantly in the project Council 50: - Five members of the EN-RE participated actively in the organization team : Henk Baars, François Becker, Vittorio Bellavite, Raymond Godefroy, Christian Weissner. This team met 6 times in Rome and once in Vienna. - The treasurer of the project is Jean Pierre Schmitz who opened a special account; - An important work of translation was supplied by Raquel Mallavibarrena for Spanish and Sigrid Grabmeier for German. - An important help was supplied by Mauro Castagnaro for the contact with the communities of Latin America and by Didier Vanhoutte for the groups of Asia. What makes at least 10 people.strongly involved.

The meeting of Rome from 20 till 22 November is completely organized. The program, the list and the contents of workshops, the skeleton of the Charter Council 50, as well as various activities (fair, prayers and liturgy) are finalized. They were sent to all the participants with letter n°4. The program is joined to this report. Those who did not receive letter 4 can ask for it to François Becker Will gather in Rome about hundred delegates, of whom a good third is not European, representing groups or communities from 27 countries (5 from Latin American countries, the USA, 4 from Asian countries, 7 countries from Africa and 10 countries from Europe).

Until now the contacts with Vatican are fruitless, in spite of the numerous letters sent to various cardinals and bishops. But numerous personalities support the project and constituted a Committee of Recommandation. Several of them sent a message to the participants which will be read during the opening session. The setup of a solidarity fund was strongly abounded, essentially by the European, for an amount of about 36,700-euros. It allowed to finance the journeys and to support the stay of 30 delegates coming from distant countries for an amount of approximately 21,000 euros, to contribute to the organization of the meeting and to reduce the cost of the participation to the meeting to a minimum: 150 euros for two days, all included. Le réseau Européen Eglises et libertés s’est beaucoup engagé dans le projet Council 50 :

- Cinq membres du EN-RE ont participé activement à l’équipe d’organisation: Henk Baars, François Becker, Vittorio Bellavite, Raymond Godefroy, Christian Weissner. Cette équipe s’est réunie 6 fois à Rome et une fois à Vienne.

- Le trésorier du projet est Jean Pierre Schmitz qui a ouvert un compte special

- Un important travail de traduction a été fourni par Raquel Mallavibarrena pour l’espagnol et Sigrid Grabmeier pour l’allemand.

- Une aide importante a été fournie par Mauro Castagnaro pour le contact avec les communautés d’Amérique Latine et par Didier Vanhoutte pour les groupes d’Asie.

Ce qui fait au moins 10 personnes fortement impliquées.

Depuis la rencontre de Drongen, la phase de sensibilisation et de collecte des contributions de la base a conduit au rassemblement de nombreuses contributions rassemblées dans une « Dropbox » Council 50 accessible en cliquant sur

La rencontre de Rome du 19 au 22 novembre est complètement organisée.

Le programme, la liste et le contenu des ateliers, le squelette de la Charte Council 50, ainsi que les différentes manifestations (foire, prières et liturgie) sont finalisées. Ils ont été adressés à tous les participants avec la lettre n°4. Le programme est joint à ce rapport.

Se retrouveront à Rome, une centaine de délégués, dont un bon tiers non européens, représentant des groupes ou communautés de 27 pays (5 pays d’Amérique latine, les USA, 4 pays d’Asie, 7 pays d’Afrique et 10 pays d’Europe).

Jusqu’à présent les contacts avec le Vatican ont été infructueux, malgré les nombreuses lettres envoyées à différents cardinaux et évêques. Mais de nombreuses personnalités soutiennent le projet et ont constitué un comité de soutien. Plusieurs d’entre elles ont adressé un message aux participants qui sera lu lors de la séance d’ouverture.

Le fond de solidarité mis en place a été fortement abondé, essentiellement par les européens pour un montant de 36700 euros. Il a permis de financer les voyages et soutenir le séjour de 30 délégués venant des pays lointains pour un montant de 21. 000 euros environ, de contribuer à l’organisation de la rencontre et de réduire au minimum le coût de la participation à la rencontre (150 euros pour deux jours, tout compris).
