Letter to Pope Francis
31st August 2018,
Subject: Demand for a Council of God’s People
Dear Holy Father,
Following the massive disclosures of a large number of scandals of the Church concerning the sexual abuse of minors by priests, you have addressed a letter to God’s People, in which you condemn clericalism as one of the causes of this evil and you have appealed to the baptized persons to help you resolve the problem. We want to respond to your appeal.
We firmly support all your initiatives and try to implement what you recommend. Previously, the Conference of Baptized Persons (CCBF) had widely circulated and commented your previous documents on the following subjects, Evangelii Gaudium, your address on the last council in 2015 and your Letter to Cardinal Ouellet in 2016, in all of which you already mentioned the ‘mobilization of the Baptized’ in the life of the Church, the need to practice ‘audacity’, the need to ‘turn the pyramid upside down’ and the ‘primacy of the common priesthood of the faithful’.
Today, the credibility of our Church is, not only dented,

Carta al Papa Francisco

Asunto: Petición para un Concilio del Pueblo de Dios
Querido Santo Padre,

THE OLD WEBSITE (europeancatholicpeople.eu)
Following the Rome Conference in March 2018, it was decided to close the old website and transfer the documentation onto our existing website www.en-re.eu. François sent me a Zipfile of the documents on the old website on 19th June 2018 and following my meeting of 8th August 2018 with Inma Calvo, our technical website specialist, I have started to upload these documents onto our existing website in the section Old Website which you can find under Others.
Apart from this general information which will appear on the front page, all other documentation transferred from www.europeancatholicpeople.eu which no longer exists, will be listed under Old Website only.
In this documentation, there are:
- All EURONEWS issues in electronic format,
- All the bulletin issues in electronic format,
- All the other publications of the EN-RE: Declarations, Press Releases, Open Letters, Petitions, Reports, Contributions of the EN-RE to Conferences…
- Some information of interest to the EN-RE.

- la Commission Droits Humains;
- la Commission démocratie, cohésion sociale et enjeux mondiaux;
Summer Session of the Conference of INGOs
This report gives details of the agendas for the meetings of the three committees and the Plenary of the INGO Conference:
- the Human Rights Committee;
In the Human Rights Committee agenda, I find particularly interesting the Report of the Secretary General: The Role of institutions, threats to institutions. See page 5/103 for the index
Note that the object of the working groups is to make recommendations for incorporation into the legal framework of the Council of Europe. Consequently, legal language is used in these documents as in the Report of the Copenhagen Declaration, which is a Convention adopted by many of the Council of Europe Member States and which became law in our countries.
One of our tasks as INGOs is to comment on the degree of implementation of these conventions in our countries and report back.
- the Democracy, Social Cohesion and Global Challenges Committee;
Whilst the Recommendation CM/Rec(2018)4 and the report on the World Forum for Democracy are only available in the official languages, English & French, the European Local Democracy Week bulletin ELDW is available in over 100 languages.
